• Message settings
You can control the format, method of delivery, and other properties of
your messages with Message settings.

At the Start screen, press Menu, and then press the roller.
Text messages appears on screen.

Press the roller and then press Options.

Scroll to Message settings and press the roller.

The following message settings are available. Scroll through the
menus using the roller. Press the roller to enter their submenus.
Message center
number . . . . . . . . . . . . The phone number of the message center. It is
necessary for sending text messages.
Messages sent as . . . . Allows you to select the format of the
messages you send.
• Text . . . . Send as normal text.
• E-mail . . Send as e-mail.
• Page. . . . Send to a pager via the internet.
• Fax. . . . . Send as a fax.
Note: You can only use Text, E-mail, Page, and Fax if your service provider
supports these formats.
Message validity . . . . . . . . Allows you to set the length of time that your
service provider attempts to send the message
before it gives up.
Default recipient
number. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The default send number for any text message.
Delivery reports. . . . . . . . . Requests the system to inform you whether it
was able to deliver your messages.
Reply via same center . . . Allows your reply to be delivered by the
message center that sent you the message.

You can send a text message to a fax or to an e-mail address (if supported
by your service provider) if you’ve defined a set with parameters for fax or
e-mail transmissions. This option is under Messages sent as...
