• Your phone’s memory

Your phone has two types of memory - Phone memory and SIM memory.
You can save names and numbers to either of these memory types, but
there are advantages specific to each type. Phone memory is the default,
but you can switch between SIM and Phone memory any time you like.

Note: To use Voice dial, you must select Phone memory.

Only names and numbers saved to the memory that is currently in use will
display on screen.

Which memory is best for you?

To determine which memory setting is best for you, use the table below:

Tip: If you want to save more than one number with a name or if you

want to use Voice dialing, choose Phone memory.

Copy (or move) numbers from the SIM card
to the phone or vice versa

Copy numbers one by one

At the Start screen, press Names.

Scroll to Copy and press the roller.

Scroll until From phone to SIM card or From SIM card to phone
appears on screen and press the roller.

Scroll to One by one and press the roller.

A list of names appears on screen. Scroll to the name of your choice
and press the roller.

Scroll to Copy original or Move original and press the roller.

The entry is copied (or moved). You’re then returned to the list of
names where you can choose another entry. If you wish to return to
the Start screen, press

.

Note: Copy original duplicates information and moves it to the SIM

card, while Move original deletes the information from the phone
memory (after moving). If you’re unsure about which option to use,
it’s safer to use Copy original.

Copy all numbers or copy only primary numbers

At the Start screen, press Names.

Scroll to Copy and press the roller.

Scroll until From phone to SIM card or From SIM card to phone
appears on screen and press the roller.

Scroll to All and press the roller.

If you are copying numbers from the phone to the SIM card, there is an
additional option (Primary numbers) which will copy only the primary
numbers of the entries in your phone book to the SIM card. To learn more
about primary numbers, see “Specify a primary number” on page 33 of
your User Guide.

Scroll to Copy original or Move original and press the roller.

Copy entries? or Move entries? appears on screen. Press OK.

The entries are copied. Press Quit to return to the Start screen.
